Mr Skeggs graduated MBChB from Otago University in 1976 then trained as a General and Vascular Surgeon obtaining FRACS in General Surgery in 1984.
Subsequent to post fellowship training in Glasgow he took up a position as a General and Vascular Surgeon at Nelson Hospital in 1986 and has been in private practice since that time.
Mr Skeggs is experienced in a wide range of general surgical procedures but has a special interest in thyroid surgery as well as vascular surgery including the treatment of varicose veins. He is able to offer endovenous laser therapy in addition to surgery for varicose veins.
Mr Skeggs is deputy chairman of the Manuka Street Hospital Trust and is a performance assessment committee member for the Medical Council. He is also an independent advisor for ACC.
